I love the fact that this site exists! Thank you Karl. And thanks go out to all the supportive artists in our CNY home, taking care of each other. You can best get a taste of my sound by going to cdbaby.com and typing in my name. My last two cd's are there with sound clips of every track. I also recently posted a vid on the myspace site, thanks to Al at Fingerlakes Recording. I have a long history of performing and recording in this area and while I won't quit my day job any time soon, I have always made time and energy for my music business. Singing influences for me are all over the map, truly: Joni, Rickie Lee, Bonnie for starters, but go on to Billie, Ella, Sarah, Abbey Lincoln, Dinah Washington, and Nina Simone. Being a child of the seventies, I can't get enough of Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, all those cats that make us move when the music starts. These days I listen to lots of French artists and other world music, when I'm not working on my own thing.
Voice. Some perc. Guitar for fun, and piano for studying new material and writing my own.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
O goodness I already answered this one!
Favorite Jazz Clubs:
Parisian jazz clubs can't be beat. For one thing, when you leave, you're in Paris! But for our local scene I adore John's gig at Pastabilities and the scene at the Suds Factory.
